Software-Defined Vehicles: An Arms Race in Full Swing − How Automotive Stakeholders Should Adapt not Just to Survive but to Thrive S01E10
2024. 04. 29.
Automotive is being transformed in direction CASE (connected, autonomous, shared, electric), and the pressure has never been higher on stakeholders to adapt. The emergence of Chinese newcomers poses an extra challenge for Europe. Against this backdrop, executives have a super-tough job to steer their companies in uncharted waters. We asked dr. Róbert Keszte Head of Country Hungary and Head of Operations Business Area Architecture & Networking Continental AG whether there’s a way out of this maze.
Software-defined vehicles (SDVs) are changing the entire game of automotive. Whilst traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) cars were made for life, SDV’s new architecture allows you to change the car during its life-cycle with over-the-air (OTA) updates at any time.
Continental dedicates a substantial portion of its resources to develop cutting-edge software for its clientele, and as such it’s a leading powerhouse in the ADAS department. Based on the immense expertise accumulated, dr. Róbert Keszte shed light on how the industry is being reshaped amidst the autonomous and electric revolution, and whether suppliers stand a chance to stay in the race.
