Kontron Electronics Kft., the Hungarian subsidiary of the Kontron Group, a world leader in communication between machines operating in industrial environments, is implementing a capacity expansion investment in Pécs.

Kontron Electronics Kft. has been present in Hungary since 1991. In addition to its manufacturing activities, the company provides an integrated service chain covering the entire electronic product life cycle. The production lines in Pécs and Tab have a capacity of more than 1.8 million units per year.

The aim of the EUR 5 million investment is to expand production capacity at the Pécs plant, enabling the Kontron Group to relocate its medical technology, aerospace and robotics production from China to Hungary. The project includes the purchase of two new production lines and the installation of solar panel systems, and will contribute to the creation of 30 new jobs.

Between 2014 and 2025, with the support of HIPA, a total of 185 positive decisions were made on projects related to the electronics sector, representing a total volume of approximately EUR 27.8 billion. As a result of priority investments, around 43,400 jobs will be created, while more than 30,000 jobs have been preserved through projects supported under the VNT and Factory Rescue programmes.
