German-owned Schedl Hungária Kft., a company specializing in the assembly and in-sequence delivery of complete wheels, invests EUR 101.1 million to open new production facilities in Debrecen and Kecskemét. The greenfield investment will create 160 jobs, and as a result the company will be able to serve growing demand in the EV segment, most of all by BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

With 30 years of experience and 17 million wheels delivered annually, Schedl has established itself as a household name among leading European car manufacturers such as Audi, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, among others. Headquartered in Germany, the company has announced to expand its global footprint by adding two new locations to its existent 15 sites worldwide.

The project in Debrecen aims to build a production and logistics hall of 8,500 square meters in the vicinity of BMW’s iFactory. On the other hand, the Kecskemét facility will include a similar set of buildings on an area of 15,500 square meters right next to Mercedes-Benz’s site.

The EUR 101.1 million investment will enable Schedl to adopt a new level of automation and react more flexibly to increasing customer demand. Mass production is scheduled to start in Q2 2025 at both sites.
