Hungarian-owned Biolab Zrt. is strengthening Pest County through a capacity expansion investment.
Hungarian-owned Biolab Diagnosztikai Laboratórium Zrt. is implementing a €3.26 million capacity expansion project at its Pomáz site. The company manufactures microbiological diagnostic products for the pharmaceutical and medical technology sectors and is the only company in Central Europe to provide laboratories with a complete range of equipment and materials. The investment will create 25 new jobs, thereby boosting employment in the region.
The project supports the introduction of new manufacturing technologies, digitalization of operations, and the expansion of the site’s infrastructure. As part of the modernization, an automated vial blowing unit will be commissioned, integrated into the digital manufacturing processes, enabling the local production of products previously sourced from India. The program also includes energy modernization, with an expansion of the solar power system and the installation of a battery storage solution. This will ensure that the majority of the site’s electricity consumption is supplied from renewable sources.
Biolab relies on Hungarian suppliers for 70% of its inputs, stimulating the domestic economy and enhancing the competitiveness of local industrial players.
With its products, Biolab is present not only in Hungary but in more than 50 countries across five continents. In 2022, it won the award for the most successful manufacturing business in Zugló, and in 2024 it represented our country at one of the world’s largest international pharmaceutical trade exhibitions.
